Product Description

Product Overview

This auger valve meters material volumetrically using a small rotating screw to give continuous, pulse‑free output and predictable flow. It reliably produces minimum dispenses around 1µL and handles common electronics and optical adhesives. The head is compact for easy mounting and offers quick access for cleaning and nozzle changes.

Problem

Low‑rate dispensing often shows unstable bead shape or intermittent flow, causing rejects and rework on small assemblies.

Cause

Pressure or piston systems create flow pulses and are sensitive to feed pressure changes and air in the line. At very low rates, small disturbances cause visible variation in dot size or bead width.

Solution

The auger valve provides positive displacement metering so flow follows motor speed linearly. This removes pressure pulses at the nozzle, reduces air‑sensitivity, and improves repeatability. Quick‑disconnect head and standard nozzle options make cleaning and changeover fast.

Application

  • Electronics: small adhesive dots for PCBA, connectors and sensor pads.
  • Optics: controlled glue on lenses and small modules.
  • Small mechanical assemblies: lubricants and light pastes in confined areas.
  • R&D and pilot lines: low volume trials needing repeatable dosing and easy cleaning.

How It Works

The rotating auger moves material forward continuously; motor speed controls delivered volume per minute.  Because the screw provides positive displacement, the nozzle sees continuous flow rather than pressure pulses.  Nozzle size and motor speed determine shot size; short motor pulses create single dispenses when needed.

How To Choose

Target volume: pick the nozzle and motor speed that cover your typical dispense and peak needs.
Viscosity: provide fluid viscosity at working temperature to confirm auger clearance and material options.
Feed: use a pressure pot for long runs; gravity pot is acceptable for short tests. Stable feed avoids starvation and variation.
Integration: confirm motor driver compatibility and mounting flange dimensions for robot heads.
Cleaning: plan spare nozzles and use the quick‑disconnect head if you change materials often.
Trial: request a bench test if your fluid is filled or abrasive.

FAQ

Q1: What is the smallest repeatable drop I can run?
A1: Around 1 µL per event with proper nozzle and motor control; stable production at that size requires tuning and steady feed.

Q2: Can this handle filled adhesives?
A2: Yes for mildly filled fluids. For heavy fillers we recommend coated wetted parts and a bench test to confirm wear and flow.

Q3: Is the output really pulse‑free?
A3: The auger produces continuous displacement so nozzle output is effectively pulse‑free compared with pressure pumps; small mechanical ripple is normal.

Q4: What motor/driver do I need?
A4: A stable stepper or DC motor driver is recommended; we can suggest driver models and control settings based on your throughput.

Q5: Do you offer sample testing?
A5: Yes. Send fluid specs (viscosity at working temp and SDS) and desired dispense size; we run tests and return results and recommended settings.
