Product Description

Product Overview

This non-contact piezoelectric jetting valve is made for precise hot melt adhesive application at elevated temperatures while resisting moisture and splash. It delivers repeatable droplets without touching the work surface, making it suitable for bonding, sealing, and filling where heat and occasional water exposure occur. Use it when you need clean, repeatable hot-melt dots or short lines with minimal maintenance.

Problem

Many hot-melt dispensing tasks fail when valves cannot cope with high temperature or when moisture in the line causes instability or corrosion. This produces uneven beads, clogging, and frequent stops on the production line.

Cause

Standard valves have wetted parts or seals that soften, deform, or corrode at high temperature or when exposed to moisture. In contact systems, the nozzle can touch parts and smear hot adhesive. Also, hot-melt viscosity changes with temperature and requires stable heating and drive control for steady jetting.

Solution

This valve combines a sealed fluid path, heat-stable wetted parts, and non-contact ejection to maintain consistent droplets under high temperature and wet conditions.

Key benefits:

  • Stable non-contact jetting of hot-melt adhesives
  • Operation at elevated process temperatures with lower risk of material degradation
  • Reduced nozzle contact and smearing on small parts
  • Easier cleaning and longer nozzle life due to corrosion-resistant materials

Application

  • Hot-melt bonding: precise dot or short line placement for small parts assembly.
  • Sealing in damp environments: apply adhesive where occasional moisture is present.
  • Electronics potting and gap filling where heat is used to lower viscosity.
  • Small appliance assembly: non-contact placement to avoid nozzle marks.

How It Works

Conclusion: precise non-contact drops come from matched heating, pressure, and timed piezo pulses. A controlled heater keeps the adhesive at target viscosity. A short piezo pulse creates a pressure wave that ejects a micro-droplet through the nozzle without touching the substrate. Stable inlet pressure and a sealed fluid path prevent moisture entry and maintain repeatable shot volume.

How To Choose

Conclusion: match valve choice to your adhesive temperature, droplet size, and environment. Steps:

Confirm application temperature and select a valve rated for that operating range.
Provide adhesive viscosity at working temperature for a sample test if >100,000 cps.
Choose nozzle diameter to meet the target droplet volume and spot size.
Plan heater control and temperature feedback to keep viscosity stable.
Consider wetted material based on adhesive chemistry and any condensate exposure.
For wet environments, protect controller and cables or choose higher IP-rated enclosures.

FAQ

Q1: What temperature range can this valve handle reliably?

A1: The standard configuration operates up to 200 °C. Exact limits depend on heater setup and wetted parts; consult our team for very high temperature needs.

Q2: Can it work near water or in humid conditions?

A2: Yes. The valve has a sealed fluid path and corrosion-resistant parts; protect the controller and connectors or use IP-rated enclosures near splashes.

Q3: What is the smallest drop I can expect?

A3: Typical minimum drops are around 2 nL. Stable production requires tuning nozzle, temperature, and pressure.

Q4: How do you prevent nozzle clogging with hot-melt?

A4: Keep heater and pressure stable, use recommended nozzle inserts, and follow a regular cleaning schedule. We also provide nozzle spare kits.

Q5: Do you offer sample testing with our hot-melt adhesive?

A5: Yes. Send your adhesive spec and process temperature and we will run a sample test and return results.
